Fan mounting help. What are best to keep vibration from happening?

Wufflez

My Corsair 200r fans that came with the case seem to cause some vibrations when the RPM gets up. My hard drive could be a factor also but I feel it is the fans. The vibrations shake the wires up a bit making them vibrate against my case causing an annoying buzzing sound.

Instead of replacing the fans, I thought of buying new rubber/silicon mounts for them. But I'm not sure which kind or brand I should be getting or if it even matters.

What mounts do you reccomend? Also, is there a difference between rubber and silicon?

I've had a similar problem with my Arc Midi R2 because the front panel is plastic since somebody who should be fired thought it was a good idea to attach moving objects to plastic.

The anti-vibration mounts did not help, though they do for the fan at the back of the case which is mounted to metal.

If you let the insanity build up from the sound you will find a way.

I currently have my two front fans suspended in the air with a cord I cut from something, going through some holes on the METAL part of the case and tightened as much as possible.

It definitely helps a lot, would probably be even better if I had some wire that had some elasticity or rubberiness to it instead.

Or you could lower the RPM's as suggested, but that will make temps higher, and might piss you off you can't use them to their full potential like it did for me.

If all of your fans are physically attached to a metal part of the case, silicon/rubber mounts should work just fine. I'm not familiar with the 200R's fan setup.

Mine do have metal but as you can see, attached with screws. How would I check that these are the vibrators?  And if they are, what mounts do you recommend? or should I replace the fans completely?

Yes, get rubber mounts/washer. Doesn't matter what kind. Also add more support if its the side panel, a brace.

Hm? whats a brace? Is there any difference between these two types of mounts? http://www.amazon.com/Silicone-Rubber-Cooling-Mounts-Anti-Vibration/dp/B00MPEBVRA/ref=sr_1_18?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1429576717&sr=1-18&keywords=rubber+fan and http://www.amazon.com/Rubber-Mounts-Replace-Screw-10Pcs/dp/B00W983L1Q/ref=sr_1_15?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1429576717&sr=1-15&keywords=rubber+fan Which would you choose for my case?

brace, like a stick or piece of metal, if the side panel shakes. The fist ones look better, to me. They look like you pull them to the middle and they sit between to rubber pieces.

I think the panel is on there pretty good. The cables are cramped though and I think vibrations on the case make it so it buzzes against them

you can stop each fan with a pen and see witch is the worst.
