Do I need to run Samsung Performance Restoration on my 840 EVO?

I would really do it gave me a lot of performance gain on mine... as far as backing up just do the most important sutff but ive never heard of any data loss due to this tool

Recently, I've noticed a bit of a slow-down specifically in boot and loading on my 840 EVO, so I began to look and found the performance issues this drive had.  I saw that there was a performance restoration wizard for this drive, but you risk losing all of your data...  The question is, should I run it?  My crystaldiskmark scores were 540mbps read, 520mbps write but when I used the tool specifically made to diagnose this problem, these were the results:  http://imgur.com/HengLJOShould I run the performance optimization and do I need to backup/how should I backup?

Download the latest Samsung drivers/software for your SSD. This has been a problem with the 840 EVO for a little while now.

How long have you had this SSD?

Probably six months, maybe a bit more, but when I ran the specific file speed a lot of my less-used files were running at a greatly decreased speed.

I ran it on mine and only say a 50 mb/s increase in speed. So it was a good idea, but yeah run it. No need to backup data just for that. If something goes wrong you can always roll back to yesterday.
