sc2 - thoughts on the new swarm host?

Sauron

Hey guys,

I just realized today that locusts now fly ^^ in the one game I played against zerg I foud that it actually made my job (as terran) a lot easier, once deployed the locusts pretty much stay where they landed meaning counter attacks are a lot easier. The fact that you can see the swarm hosts while they spawn locusts is also a big deal imo.

What do you guys think? I'd like to hear a few zerg opinions too if possible :)

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

If used right they open up a lot of options for the Zerg. Late-game harass is the role they are supposed to fill now. A good player can have them deploying locusts on the move, but, like doing anything cool in SC2 you need to multitask it a little bit.

I wish they had have advertised the patch for this a little bit more. Zergs late game is very different now. You'll want to go for a fast Spire now vs. Protoss, probably off some kind of ling/roach/hydralisk (maybe -roaches depending on your opponent) and then go into a Spire off that. Or ling -> roach -> spire and you've got access to mutalisks, which do surprisingly well in ZvP, then get corrupters once Colossus are in play.

good points, I can see it being annoying when suddenly I have locusts in my base and I can't safely counter.

Still not voting in your poll, I think both answer are equally terrible (y) I'm hopefully going to watch some Proleague or Code S this week so I guess we'll see where, and how, they're being used at top-tier play

Locust flying sounds awesome and all, but in general the SH are nerfed. Especially the flying sucks dick imo, they die before they even shoot anything against units. I used to be a SH player and I have the multitask capability, but haven't found use for them yet. Way to expensive + locust cd is ridicilous, like you mentioned.. the terran wants you to go for SH... this is bad. Not using the SH anymore, in neither of the matchups.

I'm high masters zerg, diamond protoss & plat terran btw.
