It will perform better in gaming, but not much else.

I agree though, make do with the i3 until you can upgrade, it may not be able to do a whole lot, but it can game well, which is pretty good.

Get an i5 and use quick sync to stream.

I am using quick sync with my i5 lol.

No performance hit .

zero.

i'd suggest getting an 8-core, it'll be much better than the 6-core.

unlike what sir swagga claims, AMD will in fact be better at streaming (for the budget, and especially against an i3)

but he has a point in upgrade path, since the AMDs are rather limited in single core performance.

would it be a possibility to go towards an intell processor, and a more high end GPU (like a GTX970) and encode on the GPU?

I would drop the fan controller / leds / fans , you're spending more on those than the cpu or the gpu .

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

When you don't waste $135.95 on useless bullshit like led's, extra fans, fan controllers and led controllers, you can have something a lot better than what you had.

the i5 4460 is better than an fx 8350 and an i5 4690k is gonna rek an fx 9590, also Intel is more future proof, so you can get a better CPU down the road without having to switch motherboard
