OBS Streaming Problem

Go to solution Solved by MrLewisMHarris,

Has your upload speed always been around 1mbps? I know virgin media are notorious for throttling people that use their upload speeds aggressively.

(see more @ this link and that link)

The only other thing I can think of apart from this is that maybe you're PC can't keep up encoding so much gameplay so it just starts to lag. It all depends on your OBS settings I guess. Just fiddle about with it, turn some settings down, but keep in mind that lowering your bitrate will stress your CPU more (because it's actually trying to encode more data).

Hey, I get a lot of problems when I stream, such as it crashing every about 30 minutes. But After about an Hour and a Half the whole stream becomes really laggy, I drop from my normal 2000 bitrate to around 700-1400 bit rate as well as losing a lot of frames. I stream in 60FPS and 2000 Bitrate, I was hoping some knew a fix for this.

Specs:

Processor - AMD FX 8320
Graphics Card - AMD Radeon R9 270X
Ram - 8GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHz
Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P
Operating System - Windows 8.1

What are your capture settings?

How fast is your internet connection?

Are there other people using the same connection when you stream?

Sig under construction.

Are you downloading anything at the time when you stream?

Nothing is being downloaded, just some music in the background from a NightBot playlist.

If your upload is 1.08mbps you shouldn't be streaming above 480p-30fps.

That seems weird though. 1.08Mbps = 1080Kbps = No way you were streaming @ 2000kbps.

Who is your internet provider? And possibly provide us with a speedtest?
