Do you write your percent number %50 or 50%?

Just curious, because I always question myself on which way to do it.

THIS. This is probably the biggest reason it trips me up. because you write $50, not 50$...

I believe that 50% is more proper and commonly accepted.  doing %50 will likely just confuse people.

I've only seen 50% and $50 like that. Never %50 and 50$

This reminds me of the time I was volunteering at some computer center in the early 2000s, some kids with mental issues came in and one of them started using the mouse to scroll.  He looked towards me confused.  He would click down and hold the scroll bar on the side of the browser and move downward on the screen but the screen itself appeared to be moving upward....

 

 

When he pointed out his confusion I said nothing, I simply turned my head and wordlessly mouthed in the air when no one was looking (wow).  Thank the gods my mind was not so afflicted.

 

 

Now OP, this was not that bad, I used to get confused into my early 20s how to fold the top of a cardboard box to get a seal (one down adjacent to the other after another all the way around), but your confusion reminded me of these sorts of basic confusions that ONLY exist in very few souls because its so obvious to most others.

I write it as 50% because I've never seen otherwise.

For currency I do it the way people who use that currency write it.

i.e. $50 and £50, but 50€.

I know some countries are backwards when it comes to these things, like America and their dates. But i've never seen %50.

For the percentage....I've seen it both ways. I know it goes after though.

 

For $, I go with each one. I tend to use $50 more to be honest, probably because I'm not paying attention.

I think the Dollar sign can replace the actual currency, so in my case it's 50€, not €50. But who writes %50?   Never seen it like that.

So some do write it 50$  (I use the dollar sign because lazy American)... unless trolls.
