Verizon: Data caps are good for you

spartaman64

Verizon wrote a blog saying that data caps are good and necessary but i disagree with them. It just seems like they just don't want to spend money and upgrade their network so they came up with this excuse. When i was on verizon I was paying 248 dollars a month for a 2GB plan and now I'm on sprint playing 120 a month for 20GB including the monthly payment for 2 note 4s and a iphone 6 plus. When they charge those ridiculous amounts they have no excuse not to upgrade their networks. Also sprint and t mobile offers unlimited plans and they are newer carriers so verizon's argument that their network can't handle it is BS.

This article makes me LOL ^^^

Not to be rude, but whomever sold you that plan f-ed you up the butt. On verizon, my family gets 15GB for sub $160 with 4 phones and unlimited everything else.

Big ISPs who impose data caps are the scum of the earth. In this day and age, if you want to be an internet provider and don't have a strong fiber backbone that can handle large amounts of traffic, you're doing it wrong.

They have already been paid billions to upgrade their network, so the fuckers have no excuse for data caps and shit internet speeds.

i had like 7 phones on the 2GB plan and needless to say 2GB was not enough. when we went to sprint the original price was like 190 but they cut the price to add a phone in half for us

Actually, that was probably a normal plan from Verizon.  Back when I used to be with Verizon it used to cost $60 for the bucket of data(2GB shared SMH) and $40 per line, so when my family had 4 lines it was $220. They have better plans now, but people are either still locked into this BS(because Vzw loves contracts) or don't want to hassle switching to the new plans(because its not easy, and another reason why I'm on T-Mobile).

And it's because of BS like this why I switched from Verizon to T-Mobile. Now I pay $50 for unlimited LTE, and the coverage is much better than their competition leads on.

Brace yourselves...at one point I worked for VZW. All of your information - is theirs. One of our managers had a crush on Ricky Martin. Had access to his entire account and everyone on it, knew his home address and when he was home or not, etc. That place is more  evil than you think.

Seriously, everyone just email their PR department a link to the blog, and this gif as your response.

I should do that with Telstra.

$50 for unlimited LTE? WTF? I pay either $200 per charge (up from $180/charge) for 12GB and the best coverage, or $130 for 15GB and shit coverage. Network speed independent (aka I can buy my own 4G modem and it will work).

I'm not referring to Verizon. I should've been more clear. Both T-Mobile and Sprint have offered me the $130/mo. Used to have Verizon unlimited grandfathered but then contract went up and we left. :)

First of all, a 15GB plan with 4 galaxy S6's on Edge (payments) costs 260 a month.  Also, while we do have the strongest network, if we offered full unlimited, our network would crash all day.  We invested 6.5 billion into our network last year which has allowed us to lower our prices so people can use more data.  As for Sprint/Tmobile any unlimited plans only offer LTE until 2-3GB then you get 3G.  Also while Sprint's coverage is okay, T-Mobile's is very very poor.  Now Sprint does offer cut your bill in half, but what they do is cut your price point but then make you lease/finance the phones.  But the "new" price has the financing discount included.  So while they will give me 15GB and 4 phones for 130, the S6 is 25/month financed so my bill goes from 260>230, I have to trade in my existing phones and cannot be damaged or cracked.  But for 30 bucks I cut my coverage in half.

Intel Core I7-4790K 4.5GHz 1.225V, NZXT Kraken x60 AIO Cooler, EVGA Z97 FTW Board, Kingston Fury 2x8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ram, EVGA GTX 980 TI SC+ ACX GPU, Corsair Air 540 Case w/ 3x120MM & 3x140MM Cougar Red LED Fans, EVGA G1 650W 80+ Gold PSU, Crucial MX100 512GB SSD, Samsung UD590 4k 60Hz Monitor

I am with t-mobile and for $100 I have 4 lines with unlimited talk, text, and 10gb of data shared EDIT: I think its 10gb of 4g and unlimited 3g. The only thing is that doesn't include phones but considering that another company would charge about 150 (50 more), 50x24 = 1200, + 200 x 4 you would normally pay for new phone = 2000 dollars I have to buy phones with. (we all got 100 dollar LG L90's and they are an amazing deal. Similar to moto G for only 100.)

So by getting a cheaper phone and going with t-mobile we are saving 750-1000 every year.

Still have unlimited data with Verizon. I don't plan on giving it up even if I have to buy my phones full price just to keep it. That being said, if Verizon ever decides to boot me off, T-Mobile it is.
