CPU choice

Hello , I am planning to buy a new gaming pc as the one that I have right now is pretty old , and I can't decide when it comes to CPUs . My 2 choices are

AMD Fx-6300 or AMD X4 860 K , I am looking for the best processor to handle games at the moment and in the future , and one that I can upgrade from  without having to change the Motherboard in the future .

Other parts :

HDD :  Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB SATA 3 64MB

Cooler :  Coler Master Blizzard T2

PSU :  Cooler Master G600 , 600 W

Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-D3H (For X4 860 K ) or Asrock 980DE3/U3S3(For FX 6300)

GPU : MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB GDDR5 384-BIT (OC , TWIN FROZR IV )

Case : DeepCool TESSERACT BF

RAM :  DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz CL9 HyperX Savage

So which one of these 2 CPUs will give me the best performance in the long run ? As I am on a budget , and these are my only 2 choices . And also , I wonder if the PSU will be enough to handle the components .

You can't upgrade either for a good performance gain without changing the MoBo, as both are on Dead sockets.

For upgradability, and the best performance, get an i3 4150 or save up for an i5 4440.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

i7 9700K (5.2Ghz @1.2V); MSI Z390 Gaming Edge AC; Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB 3200 CAS 16; H100i RGB Platinum; Samsung 970 Evo 1TB; Samsung 850 Evo 500GB; WD Black 3 TB; Phanteks 350x; Corsair RM19750w.

the 6300 is better, and would be a good combo with the  280, but honestly you'd be better off with i5. or a really good i3 like 4360

None of those offer Tangible performance gains in 95% of games.

DirectX 12 MAY make them have a slight performance boost, but by the time that Games start using more than 6 cores the AM3+ CPU's will have long been abandoned.

A good Core i3 actually has better gaming performance than a 8350.

Intel route requires MIR's to get down below the other build, but not much higher even without them ($637.38). This also assumes you're in the contiguous U.S.

Do you have any of the parts you already listed? because I don't see how that FX-6300 build is going to come in to $500 unless you have some crazy deals in Romania

So , which one of these 2 is the best long term investment for now ? Because my budget is limited . As in the future I will most likely upgrade it , but now I lack the funds to do so, or am I better off with an I3 ? And If I get the I3 will I be able to switch to an I7 in the future without changing the motherboard?

No , the HDD is the thing that broke down when it comes to the old pc , and the rest of the parts are garbage compared to those ... And unfortunately the I3 build , in Romania , would break my budget ...

I would go for the fx 6300... but does a 8320 breaks your budget? because thats basically top of the line for AMD.... And maybe in the future the 2 modules will help

If not, the fx 6300 is fine

Well if I get the MSI Radeon R9 280 it's a little higher than my budget can handle but well I will consider it since the parts cost more here , but I want to know something , is the Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 better than the FX-6300 ? (Well it allows me to upgrade to I7 , but I want to know if it's better when it comes to perforamnce ?)

The 960 would run better then the 280, but its your pick.

And I say this all the time... The FX 6300 is only a tri core with hyperthreading. The g3258 is a beast dual core that trades blows with the 6300 in almost every game.

http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-G3258-vs-AMD-FX-6300

The only thing you need to realize is that some games require a quad core, or an i3 with hyperthreading, the G3258 cannot run.

Also the G3258 can overclock like a boss with the stock cooler. I've seen them up around 4.5Ghz and at that point, even with both overclocked, the Pentium still goes over the 6300.

So if you can swing it, get the i3, if not, get the G3258 and upgrade later to an i3 or i5.

Hope that helps!

Yes. Buy an i3-4130 + H81/B85 mobo to get the best performance now, and easy upgrade path in the future.
