Can't Access P2P , Servers

Good Day my good citizens of Planet earth. I am a new member of this Awesome Epic Words not invented to describe this site. I am having issues with my internet. I will make it brief. I can't use Software like torrents, steam etc. I tried contactingmy ISP and they couldn't do anything about it. I tried alot of things within my power to fix this issue. I know it is my internet because i have checked my system at a friend's house to make sure it wasn't the PC that blocking the internet. So I tried Port Forwarding and it didnt work. I am not verse in Networking so can you guys please help me with my issue. I need this resolved because of finals soon and i need to access my school website to upload stuff

Oh my this was quick!! Details like what? Up speed? Down Speed?
Up Speed - 33kbs 
Down speed - 1mb.
Using a Zhone Modem.
Well I cannot play online at all  because no servers show up. My opinion is the ports are block. The internet firewall has been dropped. My PC Firewall has been dropped.

For Example

Replace Firefox with (Chrome,IE,Opera,Safari) if you prefer

 

Use Firefox to visit disney.com

Use Firefox to do a google search

Use Firefox to login to gmail

Use Firefox to download an attachment to gmail

Use Firefox to upload an attachment to gmail

Use Firefox to download some free software from Microsoft

Use a download client to download the same software

hmmm open up the Command Prompt...

 

and put in these commands and after they are done try seeing if it works.

 

THESE commands are text sensitive so type them in like I do

 

Open up CMD.exe and type this in first.

 

ipconfig/renew all

Then

ipconfig/flushdns

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

how the heck is this gonna help him with his "apparent" firewall problem....come on dude

we first need to know exactly how you are hook up to the internet..and what the make and model of the devices is..

any software you are running as well

I think he meant that he turned off the firewall.

The first one works. the rest doesnt work. Yes i can visit those websites also. I already tried those commands eons ago also. And i am using a LAN Cable from a modem directly to the RJ45 adapter on my motherboard. The problem is i cannot play online games but i can surf the net normal without issues. Things like steam, call of duty etc cant play multiplayer wont work.

its a zhone modem. about 6 years old. originally from my ISP
