GTX 980 HOF Edition SLI in NZXT H440

AK101

I was wondering if it was a good idea to put two of the GTX 980 HOF Editions in the NZXT H440. I ask this because, despite the product page indicating that the card is a dual slot depth, the cooler makes it so that it encroaches on the PCI-E slot below it. My concern is mostly towards heat and whether or not it will affect the SSD that sits on the PSU shroud. My mobo is the ASUS Z97 Pro edition if you were wonderring how the PCI-E Slots were spread out.

PS. Is a 750W PSU with 80 Plus Gold Efficiency enough to run the two cards?

If you are worry that the heat will damage your SSD or something like that, don't worry. The 2nd card wont generate much heat as most of the workload is still done by the primary (top) card.

Overall heat in the case will increase thou. So depending on where you are located, temp will varies.

PSU wise, I'm not that sure. Sorry.

Thanks very much guys, I will probably move the SSD, its a shame cos it looks good in its current position. But the PSU should be alright?

Power will be fine as Maxwell is very efficient, also they don't get really hot either as a result. As long as you have all your intake fans going you should be fine. If you really are worried about it though just move the ssd.
