Pretty poor line-up in Linus's absence.

Just have a look:

Rant engaged

Mediocre videos made by interns, rushed reviews which feel more like watching a product showcase on day-time television and generally uninteresting subjects viewed from overly elaborate perspectives yielding no fresh insight whatsoever. It feels like the channel obligatory shitting out a new video every day. Choosing quantity over quality, giving to much leash for supporting roles and their playthings. Perhaps i'm a bitter oaf, but to me Luke struggling on a 5 minute stroll, summing up the specs on the website wearing his regular khaki shorts and shoes in which no sane person dares to run- does not count as a review of sport orientated headphones. Same as any elaborate shot bonanza droning up specs, same as camera videos pointed at the utmost fringe of niche, same as a shoddily made keyboard praised beyond worth. This feels like filler after filler. And i'm getting full before we get to the good stuff.

My opinion is, perhaps, highly personal. It certainly does not reflect the views of everyone here. Maybe not anyone. Still, feels like it has to be said.

I personally haven't watched any of the recent videos, but don't be too hard on them, they work really hard. Most of the work is done by "the interns" not really interns but whatever, linus just usually scripts them, he's very experienced in that regard so perhaps that what you're missing linus' writing? Looking at the recent  videos from NAB they appeal to a certain audience and I can see why others might not be interested in. However they have to try new things. Just give them a break.

A for effort, certainly. As always. I'm however under the impression that some (arguably overly harsh) criticism from the community has it's place.

Well this is constructive criticism so no need to become a jerk. Linus, Luke or anyone @LMG is able to handle it.

All opinions are valid, as they are "personal". Though I do disagree in some of your points, I do find the recent content not of my personal taste.

Take into account that Linus was on his well deserved holidays, and the guys are just trying to do their best in his abscense.

The latest videos on the cams are made almost ON THE GO, edited in a hotel room after a long day of shooting... so i don´t take it as a conscius review of the product but just a quick peek at it.

Best regards my friend!

Criticism is always welcomed and LMG asks for it at the end for every video, yes he wasn't forced to watch but that doesn't mean he shouldn't complain if he thinks it's low quality or something else.

I didn't think the videos of NBD - hope name is right - were that good, I like more of live actions videos not b-roll and voice overlay.

And you are welcome to stay at LTT and criticize them because you're a human that can form ideas and opinions and stuff on things he watches.

I guess you're just glued to Linus's personality. Thats fine, but don't let that bias make you dislike the other videos.

Did OP hit his head on the ground?

This is kinda how the videos are during events. Short ones, 3-4 minutes, not as "well done" because they're on the show floor. You kinda can't make your full on videos when half your production crew isn't at home base to work on them, edit them, setup the shots and work.

These complaints pop up every single time Linus isn't making some super powered PC build guide or taking his shirt off.

Sometimes tech can be boring and irrelevant as well.

I'm not very interested in either of them.

Anyway, i'm not debating your premise. Which is true, however I thought the silver pen video was a really proper review. It was an interesting perspective on a generally overlooked subject, reviewing it on the fly in actual day to day use. It was very well presented, swift but snappy. Surprisingly enough on a product which isn't all that spectacular.

That's good. Going by feeble assumptions, not so much.

But to be constructive. On the running earbuds. It is important to know whether the products still holds-up under actual running conditions. When continuous strain of seemingly comfortable products can be a real bother. If you ever had bleeding nipples like I did you know what i'm talking about. How do they hold up when sweat gets to them? Can they be rinsed? Perhaps ask someone who genuinely runs to have a go at them. Report their findings, or just ask them a few things. Something like that.

There isn't that much going on in the consumer/prosumer computing area at the moment when it comes to actual products, so they're trying to come up wit hthe best possible videos with limited material. The NAB videos are pretty good actually, I liked the blackmagic video, and I also liked the sennehiser sports headphones video. Not for the review, which I thought was average but gave a good idea of what they were like, but for the fact they took the opportunity to get out of the studio. Oh, and in the sports earbuds video Luke does say you can wash the buds, I'm pretty sure that came up.

Most of these videos have most likely been done for a month or so, before Linus even left, and have timed-release schedules.

When Linus used my 900 series fan mod guide to make a video, he had finished it long before it was time to upload it, when he asked me for permission to use my content, he said it'd be over a month before the video was released, but I'm very sure it only took them a short amount of time to actually make the video, as it was quite simple.

They produce so much content that they most likely have it all scheduled to be time-released so they get as many views & comments as possible, without over-flooding the channel with videos.

Linus was scrambling to finish content the night before he left to Malaysia so they probably tried their best to come up with filler content. #LinusTipTricks anyone? Although, I really could have done without the videos that are easily googleable, like the vlc "software tip" video. And personally (I might get flamed for this), I like Brandon better than Luke as a host.
