Is Ookla SpeedTest's Claim that Chrome is Fastest Accurite?

I use both Chrome and Firefox and have never noticed any speed difference when on the same network. This bugs me every time I go to SpeedTest, and while I know it's just an Advertisement, I decided just to do a quick comparison, nothing too scientific.

For some reason, each time I ran it, Firefox had a slower ping than the others (though not by much). Nothing too ground breaking, just disproving another misleading Advertisment.

Seems like an AD, not legit.

But chrome is faster then other browsers. Thats why it hogs soo many resources.

I feel bad for those speeds...

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

I think the ad isn't saying it will make your speedtest any faster it's saying the page may load faster on chrome, browser's don't magically give you faster internet lol.

Chrome is faster but only because Speedtest.net is completely inaccurate, it uses flash to measure compression between you and the server so whatever browser does it faster will give you higher speed.

TL;DR: Don't use Speedtest.net to see your internet speed, it's inaccurate and a multitude of variables can affect your speed with it.

I have always found it super accurate, getting exactly the same speed from steam when I download a game as to what the speed test gets

Browsers don't affect your internet speed.

What makes one browser faster than another is how quickly it RENDERS a page, the data transfer rate is always the same.
