Is this normal?

i use a system information tracker built into Rainmeter, and apon a successful boot, it showed up with the result of 1.7-1.8GB's used. I have 4GB's of ram Before I restarted my computer (smacking the powerbutton in anger) because it completely froze. I had been running a mmo (Wurm online), Google chrome with 3 tabs open and WMP. CPU usage was at 98-99% and ram usage was at 3.9GB. Is this normal? Also, Vram is 1gb gddr3

Also are you using a laptop or older desktop? most cheaper hardware can become overloaded pretty quickly.

Using a laptop i have been using as a daily driver for the past 4 years. Not planning on upgrading the any of the hardware anytime soon. Waiting on a job then i can rather get a desktop, but thats a long time from now

Damn for a laptop 4 years can be all they have some times. Well sorry I couldnt be any help. Only thing I can suggest is maybe doing a clean install of windows again to give it a small boost until you can upgrade. Best of luck to you

Yeah ive already at the beginning of this year replaced the hard drive with an ssd and did a clean install of windows 7. Put all the important big files that i run daily on an external.

Does it slow down when you hit 3.9gb? If it does you could always upgrade the ram for super cheap. (60$ish) if it doesn't, then never mind.
