If the 390X lives up to half the rumors that we've heard, then 8GB of VRAM is very welcome. I think 4GB would hamper its 4K performance sooner rather than later.

Maybe this has to do with the new consoles having 8GB of memory that game devs can split any way they choose. On XBONE and PS4, game devs can split the 8 GB up between system and gpu, so perhaps this can help make console ports easier.

I'd rather wait for a lineup when the DX12 spec is complete/no longer changing, so that we can get cards that support all features from it. DX12 is really promising, so it would be a shame to get a new card only to see that not all of its features are supported due to changes in the spec.
