Lagging with good computer

Go to solution Solved by RAGEWORKERZ,

I FIXED IT HOLY CRAP. I got desperate and went out to but a new psu. and it everything works so sexy now. :) Thanks all you guys for the help!

Ok so I have had this problem for a little bit and it is annoying. I have a pretty good build and I keep lagging on games getting like 20fps or less on games mainly with GTA 5 and Dying light but also with other games.  On the lowest settings it is a little better but there are massive lag spikes. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers but nothing.

Correct Responsees:

#1: HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH Loser This is why u don't buy NVIDIA

#2:It's network issues/your internet is probably bad not your hardware. Also after downloading a game you should play for a few days as it can take a bit of time for your PC to get used to the game coding and all that stuff since it is new

He could have plugged it into the on-board graphics on the mobo? Which I don't think he did.

Games are probably using onboard Intel Graphics instead of Nvidia graphics. Change the setting in the nvidia control panel like shown here
http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht078706
You may also try disabling Intel Graphic in the Device Manager or directly in the Bios if you can.

(Just make sure your HDMI/DVI/DP cable is plugged in the back of the graphic card and not the video port on the motherboard itself)

No way that hardware is holding you back, must be something else.

Only things I'm not fond of are the CAS-10 RAM and the PSU.

Audio doesn't clip at all during the lag

Gonna make sure it's not a latency issue since it could still be one.

Download Latency Monitor from http://www.resplendence.com/downloads

Run it click the play green play button and run a game until you get the lag spikes, then take a screenshot of Latency Mon and upload it here.

Yeah that's a latency issue causing your lag spikes :S

Have you updated your audio drivers for your mobo and have the graphics drivers updated? (checking everything else before trying the end all fix all solution :) )

btw what OS are you running?

CAS latency looks like something that matters alot but it really doesnt make much of a difference. :D

1600 @9CAS and 1866 @10CAS i'd still go with the kit of 1866.

this is odd indeed,

perhaps theres something like behind the scenes virus scans taking up too much CPU usage?? *shrug*

Reinstalled graphic drivers, didn't work. I don't see how audio drivers would help but did it none the less.

Well HDAudBus.sys is the AuidioBus  system driver so updating that could aleviate the symptoms; also the NVlddmkm.sys is the NVidia Kernel Mode driver so because this has a very high latency could be caused an improper installation of the graphics driver.

Have you updated all drivers here to the latest? http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_HERO/HelpDesk_Download/

Also which OS are you running and could you please re-run the latency test until you get lag and upload a screenshot again?

Also I reinstalled/updated most of the drivers I can and GTA runs worse now and I have no clue as to why. I'm getting audio popping a lot as well.
