GTA V PC has gone LIVE, but there maybe some launch issues...

So GTA V for PC is officially LIVE!

Whether you have purchased the game through Rockstar, store bought, or Steam, you copy of GTA V is now active.

The only issue is since everyone wants to play this game, the servers are getting hit fairly bad.

When you launch the game, don't expect to be in for a fast launch.

Hope this port is good and that is was not a waste of money and time.

Have fun everyone.

Update #1:

Something I just found out, check the downloads section as it shows the progress of the un-encryption and allocation for the files. That is what will most probably take the longest unless Rockstar didn't learn from their mistakes when the game first launched on consoles.

Update#2 - Provided by @DIV1D3

Just want to say that there might be issues with installation because of Windows usernames, there is a Steam announcement about it.
Supposedly characters that aren't in the alphabet (both cases) or numbers will have problems installing.
http://steamcommunity.com/games/271590/announcements/detail/190617144670191197
There was just a 100MB update before though, not sure if it fixed it.

Update 2.5

For those of you that are effected by the problems mentioned in update 2, if you bought the game on Steam, you may find this useful.

Dear Steam Customer,

We recently learned of an issue that can impact players attempting to install Grand Theft Auto V on Windows PCs. For those experiencing this issue, you have three options available to you at this time.

First, Rockstar Games intends to have a fix for this issue soon.

Second, customers can try the manual work around detailed below.

Third, if neither of the above works for you, the self-refund tool will continue to be available until the official fix is released.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.

Please see below for more information from Rockstar Games, including details on the manual workaround.

The Steam Team

We have identified an issue where players with Windows usernames that include characters not found in the table at the bottom of this page will likely run into difficulties when attempting to download, install, or play GTAV. We are currently working on a fix for this issue.

If you don’t want to wait for a fix, you need to create a new Administrator User Account for your Windows system that only includes letters A to Z, a to z or numbers 0-9 from the basic roman alphabet. For a full list of supported characters, see the table at the bottom of this page. Please note that simply renaming your current User Account will not correct this issue. To create the account, follow these instructions from Microsoft’s website:

Windows 8/8.1:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=windows-8
Windows 7:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=windows-7
Windows Vista:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=windows-vista
We will update this support article with any new information as soon as we have it, including expected timing of a fix and whether you will be able to transfer progress on the newly-created Windows username over to your original Windows user account.

If you would like to receive an automatic update via email when there is more information about a fix, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page.

It boggles my mind why they never stagger these releases by date/time.  Even a few hours apart (rather then full days) would have to be better then trying to cram everyone in at the one time.  A steady stream of updates rather then a mad dash HAS to be the better option.

Through RSC I've already had one 54mb which had troubles and now on to the 2nd patch of 354mb which is also having download problems.

So I restarted Steam after it update with 0 bytes. Now I'm getting the "ready to play in x amount of time" screen, and it's slowly going down in length of time....but nothing actually happening on progress bar?

Apparently once it got down to 20m it decided I had made 1 bar of progress....

what boggles me, is that why hasn't games figured out to let users play with the old version while the patch downloads, then promp a restart when is done downloading, i know i'm saying this just a steam an R* servers crap out, but every game that has SP in it should do this
