Anyone here who has both the Zowie FK1 and EC2-A?

ManOfDisguise

Not so long ago Zowie products started to be available in my country and I know they make some of the best mice with some of the best sensors, they also look minimalistic which is good.

Both the EC2-A and FK1 cost 60 euros here and I would like to know which one is overall more comfortable to hold in the hand? My hand is about 20.5 cm big from base to top

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

Define, best.. You're stuck with 4 dpi settings that might be too restricted for some, Zowie still has a bunch of QC issues they seem to not care about fixing. I.E. lens rattle on the FK1, broken scroll wheels, high click latency..

Anyway the above mentioned might not bother you, just thought you should know.

The EC2-A and FK1 are geared towards different grip style.

The FK1 is a bit longer (128mm) and flatter, ambidextrous and more for claw grippers.

The EC-2A is a bit shorter (120mm) and has a higher arch which is better for palm grippers or palm/claw grip hybrids with smaller hands.

My hands are slightly bigger than yours (22.5 cm) so I can tell you right now that the 120mm EC-2 won't cover your full hand if that's what you're going for. So EC2-A for palm grip, FK1 for claw grip. Depends on which grip you prefer.

This guy owns both and talks about em:

I had the DA 2013 which has a similar shape to the EC2-A but the EC2-A doesnt have such a retardedly huge height in the middle and as the guy in the vid said(which i have wartched before btw) it has less contours. The DA really forced me to only hold it one way and I think EC2-A would fix this. FK1 also looks good and even more versatile in grip but is the click latency really that noticeable? And is the lens rattling on all FK1s or only on some of them? Overall the EC2-A is as the guy in the vid said a less flawed mouse(fixed latency clicking, rattling, etc.) so I think I would go for that out of those reasons. I don't like to palm mice when gaming I think im more or less a claw gripper.

Click latency shouldn't be much of a prob if even noticeable, unless you're a pro CS:GO player who's convinced it affects their game.

I don't know if all FK1's have lens rattle but I have yet to come across one review or owner who hasn't reported lens rattle.

The one I tested out in stores had it too..

The EC2 is smaller than your hand so you can probably claw grip it just fine. So based on everything I think you'll be better off with the EC2-A. :)

Ah ok, I used to play CS  but im not into it or competitive gaming that much anymore :P

Too bad the FK1s have the rattle, a shame really.

I think I have decided for the EC2-A(unless there is a better mouse in the pricerange of 30-60 euros that is similar). Thanks a lot for the help :)

You're welcome. :)

True, it's a real shame because it's something small but rattle can get really annoying. :P

For 60 euros and with a minimal design, I don't think so.

I ended up going with the Mionix Avior 7000 which is also pretty minimalist.

It's roughly a FK1 without the problems and more versatile but it's 80 EUR unfortunately.

Yea I looked at all kind of mice including the Avior but I dont want to spend too much money on a new mouse anymore because I dont game that often or competitively anymore
