Xperia Z3 Essentials?

Lazmarr

So I just got my Z3 yesterday and it came with a smartband for free :D

Is there any essential things I should setup in its options and stuff?

Also any good cases for it out there?

If you have a spare DualShock 3/DualShock 4 controller you should connect it to your phone... and if you have a PS4 you should download the PlayStation app and the Remote Play app... I don't know about cases for the Z3, because I don't use one on my Z3, but Xperia Blog sometimes have review up on their site... Personally I think the Sony DK48 Magnetic Charging Dock is an essential accessory.

Gonna get a playstation soon :P Would've been much better if the charging dock could connect to your tv :S

Do you have any recommendations for charging cables, I have seen the magnector cable but not sure if they're reliable :S

Yeah it will only charge from a wall charger, that is the biggest flaw of the DK48 dock...

Just get the dock instead of a seprate cable.. the magnets are not that strong, but it will stay in place in the dock...

I would recommend the dock over the cables. It looks really cool and keeps this slippery phone from moving around :)

If I'm at home, I usually put the phone in the dock to keep it safe. I put it right next to my pc, so it doubles as a phone stand.

If you like to lay your phone flat on the back, you should consider using some skin on the back. It avoids scratches on the back and keeps the phone from slipping around...

My Z3 came, in the box, with a protector for both the back and an anti-glare one for the front :S

I would recommend getting a theme on it, such as the triflat theme, or put nova launcher on it. I've tried both on mine and settled for nova launcher, but both look better than the stock Z3 skin (which is still pretty good actually)

Other things would be to connect a dualshock controller to it, get a skin on it even if you have a case, as I have both and around the house use it without a case. Keeps it from being so damn slippery and looks awesome at the same time (Carbon Fibre FTW) and buy the magnetic dock. I haven't yet, but it's my next intended purchase.

If you use itunes, set up the sony desktop app so you can transfer your itunes music to the Z3, although I'd put it on an SD card (make sure the SD card is in the phone and set it to transfer to that). This has helped save me a fair bit of data as I no longer need to stream via google play or spotify most of the time, as my main music is now with me.

I don't really need the dock since I just bought my anker 5 port USB charging hub :/

I find the Z3 is a LOT less slippery than my previous Galaxy S3. What would be the best type of MicroSD for recording 4k videos, was looking for 32GB or 64GB but not sure what would be good :S

I just grabbed a 32gb samsung evo. Seems to work fine, not noticed any dropped frames but 've not really done much 4K recording. If you're going to be doing a lot of it and storing a lot of music, photos etc. as well, then I'd grab a 64gb sd card, but 32gb seems to be fine.
