How much were K7XX's on Massdrop?

I really want the K7XX when they hopefully and eventually come back on massdrop (1100+ request, only needs 200 to have massdrop contact manufacturer).

You don't think they will do future editions? 

 

Why name it the "First Edition" if they hadn't planned on doing future editions?  Not to mention, its crazy success, I would be surprised if they didn't ever offer it, or something very similar again through Massdrop.

Not sure why it was named First Edition. Might have just been some marketing mumbo jumbo. They said during their third drop that it was the last one that there will be for that headphone. They might do a different headphone but for the K7xx I'm pretty sure it's done already and you won't be able to get any new ones anymore. 

 

Edit: Actually I went back and reread it and seems like they specifically mentioned them being the last First Editions so there might very well be more but I doubt it'll be anytime soon. I know for the previous run, they made the headphone so fast that there were some QC issues with the rattling so the next one won't be for a while.

There are a lot of people selling the K7xx in headfi or /r/avexchange for $200 shipped. You might want to get those.

 

Even though it'll be used, $200 is still a very good price. Other options include: Q701 + K712 pad which will cost you 200 or more, K702 annie: $400, K712: $350

 

Oh a word of warning, K7xx SOUNDS DIFFERENT compared to HD600. When I finally listened to it, idk what went through linus' ears
