Questions about classifieds

So, I have a few parts that I want to sell that are just taking up space. So let's say that I send something to someone and it for whatever reason doesn't work (I would never do that intentionally and I'd own up to it.) What are the protections for the buyer or seller and is there any at all?

I think they work like Craigslist, where it's just between the buyer and the seller, but I'm not sure

*If I say something that seems offensive, please don't take it seriously, it was most likely meant as a joke/sarcastically*

There don't have to be any (though that would make you shady as fack.)

PayPal protects buyers and sellers from scammers/con artists for the most part, so I'd suggest using PayPal for payments and creating invoices (though this requires a SSN if you're in the US) to keep track.

As well, you owning up to the fact that something may not work would be fine, you let the end user return it and you pay them back.

However, nothing is guaranteed and LinusMediaGroup are not responsible if anything bad is to happen.

Okay, now let's say that I know the part works and they send it back and it doesn't.

Either it was damaged in shipping, or they broke it somehow. That's why you get shipping insurance and test stuff before you send it out.
