Gaming Keypad worth it?

Guest

So I'm moving my computer to my room soon and need to save desk space, so I had an idea.  Instead of buying a whole new keyboard, I would keep my old one, put it on my desk in front of the monitor, and get a gaming keypad to fit in the mouse and keyboard drawer.  It sounds kinda dumb, but if I had a picture of what it would look like, it would make a whole lot more sense.  Has anybody had experience with any gaming keypads?  Recommend any specific ones?  Thanks for the help.

All I know is they are around the price of a full mechanical keyboard just for a few keys :/

I know that and that's not really the point.  A 60% keyboard will barely fit in the space I have, and that is only if I lay my mouse pad vertical and lay part of the keyboard on the mouse pad.  The point is not to get the best bang for the buck, but the best space saving and ergonomics.

Personally, investing in a bigger desk seems more worth it but I know nothing about gaming keypads so..

Lol a desk is out of the question.  I'm only 15 and I tried to see if there was a way to mod it, but all the parts I need to cut are structurally important.

Why?

Can't you buy a premade one off some local site or IKEA or something?

I tried but apparently its 'really nice' and would be a waste to get rid of it -_-
