Keeps getting artifact while gaming

VolkA

Hey guys. Need to ask you guys something. I keep getting artifact while gaming. But the thing is I did not OC my 2 x 290x at all (other than the factory OC). My temps while gaming are in the low 80C (Max) so far. I don't think that's high temp right considering I'm running AMD GPU. So why am I still encountering these artifacts. :(

Test games with each card individually to rule out if it's maybe one card,  what game(s) are you getting this issue on?

So far, all games I played getting this, which is DOTA 2, WOW, Civ5 and so on. So I doubt is related to games unless my whole steam is crashing. :P

Haven try out each card thou. Was afraid single card might not be able to run on 4K. :(

If you do not run any OCs please take out one card and test each card individually with stock speeds. If you still find the artifacting with one GPU it is likely that this GPU needs to be going to RMA. No matter what manufacturer or brand you buy they MUST hold the clock and VRAM speeds written on the box without issues.

R9 290(X) cards suffered in the beginning with poor memory controllers. Some people did downclock their VRAM and it got better. Also did you try each BIOS of these cards?

Intel i7 7820X (delidded) @ 4.9GHz - MSI X299 M7 ACK + EKWB Fullcover Block - G.Skill Trident Z 32GB @ 3466MHz - nVidia Titan Xp + EKWB Fullcover Block @ 2.1GHz - Samsung 960Pro 2x - WDD Blue 2TB - Seasonic 750W Platinum - modded Corsair 600C - Hardtubed Custom Watercooling

im not pointing my finger at the GPUs.. I'm going to point towards your ram!! people dont associate ram with artifacting, but its a common cause. in fact all the times I've had a "dying" gpu problem, its always turned out to be a ram fault instead!

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless

Not yet. Will try to use 1 card at a time to test it out soon. Will get back here with the results. :) Thanks man.

RAM like as in RAM RAM and not VRAM right? Hmmmm. So basically you are saying RAM will also let me sees artifact?

yup ram ram ram ram ram.. that ram!

first time i experience artifacting and weird on screen visuals i instantly wiped out my card, sent it off for RMA, got a refund as they no longer had that model so bought a new better gpu, stuck it in, booted up crysis and boom same artifacting and weird pink textures! did a ram test (take one out at a time) discovered i had a duff stick that worked in day to day tasks but not when it was needed.

Damn. Guess I got lots of testing to do. Testing GPU one at a time as well as RAM. :(
