turn it into a linux home server with an USB HDD, toss some utilities on there, make a remote WOL system, etc etc.

i'm currently working on turning my raspberry pi into a network attached *anything you plug into USB* and have it run off a power bank.

This was my suggestion, turn it into a server.

Also, apparently people use the new version for Nvidia Gamestream.......

That's what I want to do. Only thing is I play competitive games so I can't have that 2 ms difference

got another idea: use it as a media center, toss kodi on there, together with a browser based media thing (like plex, but i'm not gonna recommend plex because it does bad things...) then hide it behind your TV, and hook up a wiimote (or anything else wireless) as a remote for it.

Some sort of server or make it into a smart TV device with USB HDD. :) Well at least that's what I would do/am going to do with one as soon as it is available here. :D

Use it to control things in the house.Your garage door using voice recognition etc. or even lights or other appliances.

Being a Linux user is sort of like living in a house inhabited by a large family of carpenters and architects. Every morning when you wake up, the house is a little different. Maybe there is a new turret, or some walls have moved. Or perhaps someone has temporarily removed the floor under your bed." - Unix for Dummies, 2nd Edition (Found in the .sig of Rob Riggs)

The RasPi sucks for anything video intensive really, even the new version has the same GPU just a different CPU. A Hardkernel Odroid-C1 would work flawlessly though and is the same price.

Solar Powered WiFi Weather Station (so you can check your weather no matter where you are). Even in the "Gloomy UK" there should be enough solar energy punching through the clouds to power a "Thpppppt Pi" (get it????). Anywho.... if this is something that you might be interested in trying I can find the Instructable again and send you a link.

Put it in some weird thing and make people put up weird faces when looking at you plugging in a monitor into let's say a baby doll.

So many things I could write here... things like this.
