Windows 8.1 OS New System

jhomie777

Are there any ways to get Windows 8.1 for less of a price than windows $99? I have seen g2a.com and it seems almost too good to be true. Is that a legit way to get it? Will it work just as good as buying directly from Microsoft?

i believe people have had luck with g2a, but there has been some sketchy news surrounding g2a though. I think it would be best to purchase it through a legit verified reseller.

by that do you mean that you won't be able to purchase them in a year or two or do you mean that the OS will stop working in a year or two

i mean the OS will become "deactivated" in a few years asking for you to activate it with a key

the key you bought from G2A expired and now you need a new key if you want to reactivate windows

you can still use windows without activating, but theres a bunch of problems like no security updates, some stuff doesnt work, and a bunch of other stuff that idk about because I always use a full OS

Just go to this link: http://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswapIts pretty self explanatory. There is always that risk of having problems with the copy of windows but I have had mine for over a year and I have had no problems.

There is, retail copies of Windows 8 are permanently activated. OEM and Enterprise flavors are the ones that need to be activated every 6 months against KMS servers.

no it won't. You'll get the free upgrade, but it still doesn't magically transform into a legally licensed version as clarified by Microsoft.

If you don't want any of the proposed suggestions, if you are a student, you can get Windows 8 Pro as student pricing for 70$ at the Microsoft Store online. Check it out.

If you are a student and your school (ask the IT department) is part of MSDNAA or DreamSpark Premium, then you have Windows 7 and 8 with all other Microsoft software ready to be downloaded for free.
