Sprint to save radio shack from bankruptcy?

Article can be found here: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/01/business/dealbook/plan-to-keep-1700-radioshack-stores-open-is-approved.html?_r=0as well as several other websites.

Anyone know if this is legit, or is it an early April Fool's joke? It SEEMS legit, since there were talks of this awhile ago, but I'm not entirely 100% sure. I think it'd be pretty neat to still see a few stores around; they were always fun to browse through even if I rarely needed anything they carried. Not to mention the reported 7500 jobs it would save.

It was half-question, half-news, so I wasn't sure where to put it. But that's pretty neat to see, thanks for the update!

Yea, also not really so much saving them, but as jumping on the opportunity to grab all of their current warehouse stock and storefront brand names for pennies on the dollar due to their bankruptcy. It's a pretty common business move.

well yeah there are online retailers but if we just needed to grab a single part or something in the middle of a project we would drive to radioshack and pick it up. convenient.

A. That's why you fully plan for most bumps. B. For 6x the price if they even have the part.

Same. I was really hoping for some good deals, but nothing at mine.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Ikr? I went in one time for an HDMI cable, and for a not gold plated tiny cheap cable, they wanted like 20 or 40 bucks for it! I just bought one recently for 8 on amazon! Jeez.
