Kingston V300 SSD as a replacement to old laptop 320GB SATA2 HDD?

Hi Everyone!

Kingston V300 SSD 120GB is on sale right now at 2,800.00PHP or 63.00USD

I am thinking of buying it to replace my 6 year old laptop's 320GB HDD (whose failure is imminent).

The laptop's HDD controller is SATA2

I am also aware of Kingston's bait and switch thing which meant slower performance.

So my question is, is the V300 still fast enough to consider as a replacement for a SATA2 laptop?

Attached is the screenshot crystaldiskmark results for 1GB.

Thanks!

NEVER buy a Kingston V300.

ANY OTHER SSD in the world.. seriously.. is better, the Kingston V300 IS THE WORST.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

V300 used to be good, but they switched out the NAND or something, so now it's one of the worst performing SSDs on the market. Get something like an Mx100

I'm just looking for a cheap SSD that will perform significantly better than my current laptop HDD.

So it doesn't matter to me if its the worst performing just as long as it performs better, maybe 2-3x better.

Is the write edurance also bad?

The next cheapest would be

Sandisk Ultra 2 120GB SSD @ 3250PHP or 73USD (Additional 320PHP or 7USD)

Crucual M550 128GB SSD @ 3250PHP or 73USD (Additional 320PHP or 7USD)

Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD @ 3850PHP or 86USD (Additional 1050PHP or 24USD)
