XFX $30 MIR

Hey all, I just got my $30 mail in rebate card from xfx after buying my 290. anything cool computer or tech related that I can buy with it? I already have case lighting and good peripherals so not something like that... Maby some good desktop speakers? I don't know how good $30 speakers would sound. Suggestions welcome!

I've got a $30 card coming from XFX as well after I bought my 280 on sale. Probably end up using it at the grocery store, lol. $30 in caffeine will prolly last a week.

At the risk of sounding "ranty," I thought I would bump this thread to see how everyone's rebate cards are going so far. I've gotten 2 from XFX and Asus, and 2 more coming from Enermax (top kek) and Corsair. The total in rebates will be $110 for me, but the kicker is that these rebate credit cards need to be "spent" at other retailers instead of simply depositing them into your checking account at your credit union (versus bank.)

 

Thankfully, my local grocery store does "split transactions" so, I can say to the clerk on a $53 grocery bill, "authorize $30 on this rebate card and then I'll pay the rest on my normal credit card." This has been working for me but I have to warn you that the TOS on these rebate cards say that it's possible to "overcharge" the authorized amount and then they can "come after you" for the negative balance. Really not sure how practical that could be on their end if they're going after a balance of say $25, lol.

 

You canadafags and eurofags always complain about how Americans have it "so good" (quoting their local retailer's Titan X price), well I wish these greed-induced companies would go back to writing paper check rebates instead of trying to nickel+dime the consumer. I wrote a long-winded email to XFX about this since XFX is one of the very few companies I give money to, thanks to their lifetime warranty -- the only one in the gpu business.
