Virgin Media is annoying me!

Anyone here from the UK who is using Virgin Media? 

 

They are an absolute joke! These are my current speeds at the moment:

Many of my friends had this problem with them, one phoned up and they said maintenance is in there area it will be fine in two weeks, 6 months later they said the same thing so he left and Sky is his ISP now lol

At 1:00 in the morning speeds are about 50 down and 3-4 up. At peak times however, maximum is usually about 5 down and 1 up, not to mention how often our internet just cuts out for a day or two and we haven't been informed of any maintenance at all.

Which router do you have? Maybe there's a lot of people on in your area? - Or is it normally that slow? Can't check right now, I'm elsewhere. But where I am now I'm using BT and am getting 16ish down and 5ish up.

My dad told me that they are facing issues within their network, and we have to wait till 29th of May..I can't have this, not while hosting servers for people.

I'm on the 152mbps package line and the average speed I receive is around 110mbps down and at least 14mbps up however I really don't care about the upload speeds. Their internet service is great but like the above poster mentioned, could be down to maintenance since they are upgrading streets to support the new 152mbps fibre speed.

That's on fiber? Its worse than my internet, I get a minimum of 10/1 at all times on ADSL2+ Belong (think of it as Telstra but with good customer service, prices and none of the Indian call centers).

Im not having this problem, getting about 20mps down 5mbps up. But they are annoying me, superhub cant change dns settings, tivo wont let me stream from media server (even though its advertised).

Where are you located? when I do a speedtest I also use Brentwood, I normally get 160 down and 12 up, but I just done it and I am getting 92 down and 4 up.

 

Maybe there is an issue in our area.

lol wat. They told you to wait till May for the issue to be fixed? Doesn't UK have some consumer protection or something. Also check you contract if they are allowed to do something like this. I mean if this happened to me immediately cancel the contract and move somewhere else.

 

Also, I hope you learned not to host servers on a home connection. Why? Because things like this happen.

My speeds are pretty much constantly fine with Virgin. Their router on the other hand is god awful. I hate the super hub with a passion.

I had this problem last night. i was getting 30kbs DL and 3 Upload. But its all back to normal now. getting between 30-40 mbps now

Virgin told me that the they have network issues and there is a high level of usage in some areas.
