Making a TN display look good?

LegacyStijncat

Hello, and thanks for reading this already!

I'm looking at the Acer Predator XB240HAbpr, which is a 144Hz G-Sync display, super-fabulous and everything.

Only drawback, it is a TN display. There are IPS G-sync displays out there, but they are double the price.

So, how can I make a TN display look better? It doesn't need to be IPS level, just "not BS".

Thanks in advance!

there's nothing you can do physically to make it better , except tweak the colors mammually  manually & cranking the saturations up a bit..

Details separate people.

What do you mean make a TN display better?

The only thing you can do is to play with RGB color balance/contrast/gamma to suit ye' fancy. That's all.

The color accuracy and stuff, generally the complaints about TN!

Well nothing then.

TN is TN, it's a panel tech that has it's ups and downs. You can't force the pixels to do more effort, it's not North Korea

I don't think there is much you can do, except for tweaking the settings. And I know why your asking this, even with the lower resolution images look better on my CRT monitor than they do on my LCD monitor and LCD screen. (Though my laptop from 2006 with an unknown panel type matches the CRT in quality, minus the scan lines and migraines)

I would prefer 120Hz - 144Hz sadly enough, going for a all out build :P
