Router Limiting Speeds

GeekaWhat
Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

Won't I need to do some extra config or will it just be faster ?

afaik it should just go directly to the other PC without touching the router

Previously I have had my NAS + my mac + pc plugged into my router. I was wondering if I plugged them both into the SAME GIGABIT switch (obviously that plugged into the router) whether I could bypass the router (which seems to limit the speed I get) and get the gigiabit speeds.

Thanks,

James

Well, re-reading what you said I now understand what you are talking about xD

Yes, for anything to do with the internal network it would have a gigabit connection, I'm guessing the router only has 10/100 and not 10/100/1000 too.
