Programmer laptop

As a programmer I need a powerful computer wherever I am, but I am on a budget.

What I want is a laptop with good build quality and power.

so my budget is 600$ I can go above a little if I see something I really like.

so what laptop should I get?

@Sauron told about some lenovo quad core laptops recently, maybe he knows more about it.

But u'll need a good cpu, near 8gb of ram and at least 7200rpm hdd, sooo... Maybe it will be around 800$, not sure about 600$.

Otherwise programming with it could be a trouble.

i use a dell studio 17xx with an i7 and 8GB of RAM for my programming. i usually run multiple instances of visual studios at once. with 2-3 programs testing at once

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I also faced a problem, that I need to do some coding when I'm not at home, but I have a macbook air, which is not good for programming at all, so I'm using windows RDP to connect to my workstation. But I guess, that your laptop's gonna be the only pc for u, so it won't help.

You should consider this as well. Nice build quality, decent specs on it and very nice keyboard. Also it does come with a nice screen as well and plenty of RAM to run your virtual machines.

Portability wise it's sort of heavy but not that much.
