Stuck pixel?

Hey guys,

I recently upgraded from a 144hz 1080p monitor to an ips 1440p monitor (dell u2515h), due to its low price for a 1440p panel, and I was very pleased with both its colors, and the increased real estate.

This was however until I found a stuck pixel. I'm still not too sure what it is, because the red and blue elements of the pixel work fine (I cant see the pixel on a red/ blue background), and its only the green element that isn't working. This leads me to believe it is just a defective pixel rather than one that is stuck on a color.

Reading up on it, the pixel may be stuck on colors like red, however in my case it looks like a combination of red and blue, based on what the pixel should be displaying (pink on a white background, and really dark on a grey background).

I have already sent a message to the online retailer I bought it from, to ask if I can have it replaced (nothing was stated about dead/stuck pixels on their site), however as it is the weekend I suspect it will be some time before I hear back from them.

I have not tried the more physical methods of re-flowing the liquid in the pixel, and I only ran the color spectrum videos for around 20 mins.

I can live with it, as it quite hard to notice on anything other than a white background, but its a shame for something so small to taint an otherwise brilliant monitor (imo).

I've heard there are loads of videos onlineThat help you fix them but you need to play them for 24 Hours+

If you're not Patient enough, try sending it back to the retailer.

Yeah, but as the pixel can turn red or blue no problem, im less sure that it is a stuck pixel, and just a dead green sub-pixel. If im not mistaken, the videos only help with stuck pixels...

If the monitor is new, under the return window of Dell in your country, you can return it and they can send you a new one, as the monitor is not working at correctly at 100%. It is faulty.

If the pixel is stuck to a color (any color beside black) or is stuck on white or contains no LCD liquid, Dell will replace your monitor under its bright pixel warranty. If it a black pixel, then you need 6 or more anywhere on the screen to be eligible for replacement.

For all returns (warranty or normal return in the return window), Dell pays your shipping.

For returns -> Dell will e-mail you a pre-paid shipping label. You just boxed the monitor up with the original box, and stick using transparent tape the printed shipping label, and call the appropriated mail carrier to come and pick it up.

For warranty replacement -> You get to keep the monitor, until Dell ships you a replacement one. All you have to do is validate it, and put the faulty one back in the box of the replacement one. In the box of the

replacement, you'll also find a pre-paid shipping label, just stick it over the old one, and call the appropriate mail carrier to come and pick it up, or drop it off at appropriate location.

To me, the pixel looks like dark red. So you are getting a replacement just for that 1 faulty pixel :D

Let us know how it goes. The simple fact that you get to keep the monitor while Dell send you a replacement one, give you no reason not to the replace it.

So far so good, I contacted my retailer, and they would allow me to rma it, but asked if I could go to the dell support first. Upon doing this, they were prompt in asking for all the necessary details, to sent the replacement

Yea. In my experience I had to send a picture of the faulty pixel, but beside that, that was all that was needed. As I purchased the monitor directly from Dell, they had all my info already.
