Looking for an Upgrade.... Over Stock

Well as you can see by the title, I would like to upgrade over the stock cooler, which could be anything haha

I'm looking at getting a fan cooler that would be hopefully quieter than the stock Intel 1150 cooler, and there just happens to be a eBay sale on. So I'm in Australia and I'm near the tropical part of the country where it's easy for the outside temp to hit 40C. I have been thinking of overclocking (by a small margin) at some point as well.

I've been looking at the bequiet pure rock and Coolermaster 212x, but would love some opinions.

The Pure Rock is a great choice if you want a quieter cooler.

Well the performance difference isn't too big between the 212 and the dark rock 3 (the pro version is better). You must decide if it is worth it or not

Well I might just go for the Hyper 212X as it seems the best bang for the buck. Would it be worth it to mount another fan on it since it can take two fans, or is that just a slight improvement with it generating more noise.

I think that the 212 evo is the better banv for the buck, thats what people say I don't have experience with that and haven't looked at any benchmarks. For your idea- its not worth it. For the money that an extra fan would cost you could get a better cooler and it would generate more noise so I don't think its worth it

Ok cheers, I went ahead and grabbed a Hyper 212, will have to see how it fans out (worse pun ever). Also will get to see how good my CPU is at overclocking, found out my gtx 780 can get to 1200 (without tweaking) on air just recently.
