Want to contact Nvidia to see if they'll build a system for me

wheels

Hi guys,

Newbie to LTT Forum, I was wondering if anyone knew how to contact NVIDIA'S Marketing section or any section where I could send an proposal.

I’m a 28 year-old Quadriplegic, the result of a split second decision to dive from a bridge head first into water with a body board when I was 17yrs old = not a smart idea. Due to current bill costs and cost of living rising and being on a disability pension I had to sell my PC that I saved up for four years and built back in 2009.

I only have partial movement of my arms but no hand or finger movement. So I rely on a "headmouse" that tracks a sticker dot on my forehead for mouse movement combined with a sip/puff pneumatic headset for left/right clicking and I'm able to guide my hands by moving what little movement I have in my biceps and forearms so my fingers hit the keys I re-mapped on the keyboard to be able to play on PC. As I can’t do certain things that I use to love doing before my accident such as motorbike riding, wake boarding etc. PC gaming is one of my only outlets and forms of escape and enjoyment.

Basically I'm approaching NVIDIA to build me a system in return for having their signage on my vehicle. Do you think they'll help me if I was to have something this on my vehicle?

This is really sad, disabilities ought to have cures...

Also if nvidia says no, contact Robert Hallock. @Thracks. Head of AMDs GPU section, I think he will most certainly agree to give you a computer. 90% sure

See if you can contact someone individually at nvidia, sometimes the Social media reps might not take you seriously or may not read what your asking for.. Just saying.

I think the key is to get some traction in social media so Nvidia can look like the good guys sweeping in to help you out, good PR. If they don't hear about your cause or it barely makes a blip on the radar then they wont.

Maybe you should have made a mock up Linus Tech Tips minivan decal and see if @LinusTech and @Slick would throw together a system for you made up of review freebies :)

maybe @nicklmg could talk to the marketing division, it's sorta crazy your ability is so limited but without you saying it I wouldnt of picked something was up.

only idea is send them a tweet or contact the headquarters directly

I'm quite sure there are gaming foundations that help out people with a disability.

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Really sorry to hear about your situation man, but glad you can still find happiness through PC gaming.

Not sure if anyone I would be able to reach out to would really be in the right department for something like this... I know the big guys like Nvidia are pretty segmented, so not sure if they would be able to help out on something like this.

Like @ofr057 said, there are foundations dedicated to helping out with situations like yours, and I'm sure there are some that would be willing to help.

Send me a PM and I'll try to figure out what I can do to help out!

You didn't derail the thread.

You derailed my heart along with my emotions.

God damn that's heavy.

As for you @wheels I've sent Linus a PM/Email so he should be more likely to see this. Perhaps he could help.

I don't think Nvidia usually builds computers for people, they sponsor parts, Your best bet is to get some sponsored parts (probably multiple companies) and find a builder who is willing to put it all together for you for free

Sorry, if this is true, its very sad and I apologize for what I'm about to say, I may be wrong but.

This doesn't sound true to me. Granted, if he's putting signage on his car. There is no way you can play a game using a headmouse, and effectively just your arm. That and how did he even post this? At first I was thinking voice to text, but it wouldn't do things like "17yrs".

If you actually have a disability, I apologize 100% for any accusations. I just heard of people claiming to be injured/have a serious issue take advantage of others.

Firstly big thanks to all of you wanting to help or trying to point me in the right direction and welcoming me to the Linus Tech Tips forums! :D (btw if you're wondering how I'm on here, I'm using my mum's laptop)

I emailed nvidia headquarters and haven't heard anything back and there's no send a "message" on their Facebook Page to contact them. I also firstly tried all of  major computer builder's in Australia first even the store I built my system through with no positive result.

I've haven't tried social media @airdeano purely because of what @Flight1sim said as I was thinking the same thing but if they were wanting to help and put it on their social media I'd be more than happy to give them good pr.

@Geekazoid I just googled imaged nvidia for the logos and used paint.net to do a mock up as you see in the pics, that's not actually on my vehicle... yet ;)

@CoolaxGaming yeah I wish there was a cure too so I can be back on my feet but I focus on what I can do take the positives and move forward and never dwell on the negatives. Cheers for that I'll definitely keep Thracks in mind.

@XplosiveNoctua99 thanks man I hope so too

@XTankSlayerX thanks man for contacting Linus, I didn't want to contact him with him being on holiday with his family

@Newenthusiast I'd be more than happy to have Linus Tech Tips decal all over my van to help promote them

@Shotgun I'll try and see if I contact their Facebook to get a result

@DimasRMDO don't be sorry man, I'm just grateful to still be alive and able to have a decent quality of life! didn't try twitter due to 144 characters lol I've got more help here from all you than what I've had for the past 4 months contacting companies here in Australia.

@Williamchan87 cheers I'll definitely take your input onboard
