F@H Estimated Points - How accurate are they?

Go to solution Solved by Dabombinable,

They are only accurate if you have a passkey and have completed 10 WU (*sigh* only another couple WU than I can really earn a lot of PPD)

So last night I started doing some F@H, and I watched the first fold on my CPU and GPU (4770k@4.0Gz, 280x@1115/1600) The CPU's first run had an estimated points of 2100 and I recieved 210 points for completing it, my GPU had an estimated points of 20,000 and I got about 4000 points for the run, both tests taking a few hours to complete from the 8 days allowed, I've left the PC on for about 12  hours running F@H on high and have 20,000 points to show for it.

Is everyone getting lower than estimated points or is it a weird bug with my system?

The estimated points take Quick Return bonusses (QRB) in account.

If you have just started you're not yet elligible for that.

IIRC you need 10 WU's complete on your cpu and a passkey to be elligible and after that the estimated points are very accurate.

Are you looking at the ppd or actual credit estimate for each individual wu?

The ppd tells you nothing about how much points you should receive from

the single wu's you finish. If you haven't setup up a passkey and are eligible

for QRB yet(see sticky) You will only receive the base credit, but your client

should be aware of that and take that into consideration.

Alright I guess I'll spend about 10 mins using the chrome extension to get some quick WU's for the 28k Estimated credit I'll get from my gpu in about an hour xD

I'm looking at Estimated Credit, My estimated PPD is over 160k right now

Well, that is abit wierd, just remember that to get the bonus points

you need a passkey and you need to meet the requirements using

it. Before that you will only get the base credit for a wu.

According to folding, QRB eligible wu's counts towards the passkey

requirement. Which doesn't include the small chrome wu's as far as

i am aware, just fyi.

I was using the Chrome plugin to increase my WU's. I'm sitting at 20 now, meet all the other requirements so I'll see if I get the bonus.

Alright, so grinding out a couple 4 min long WU's through the chrome plugin to get that 10WU mark means I'm getting about 26-30k points every 4 hours from the gpu alone. Moral of the story, to make your system bring in some points when youre new, run the chrome extension for 20mins to a few hours depending on your system so you're eligible for QRB and can get a decent amount of points :D
