Asus GTX 970 Coil whining after 1 day of purchase

i built my own pc just yesterday right after all the parts were delivered. It was completely fine yesterday and today morning. The i realised something very weird today.

i heard a high pitch noise every time an animation occurred in chess titan. I googled and found out that this is a coil whining issue. Im not sure why it suddenly started making that noise but it is quite loud and annoying. Its almost like the GPU is giving me an unnecessary audio feedback when playing chess. I tried playing other games and i could hear the sounds but not as loud as when im playing the chess game. I emailed the shop where i purchased the parts and im waiting for a response.

Just in case i don't receive a replacement, is there a way to fix this issue.

P.S I read that it can also be caused by the PSU. Im using a brand new 700W Be quiet PSU.

That's odd, my Strix 970 has never made a single peep.

Seriously, I've never even heard the fans from it, at least not over the 8 fans in my air 540 running at full blast lol.

I'd put in an RMA directly to ASUS. ASAP.

My Strix 970 has coil whine as well, I get botherd by it because my system is completly silent except when this coil whines.

I've had it for one day before people found the vram issue came up, I'm not returning it because it overclocks like a beast, even BETTER than my friend's G1 970 (That's not a typo), mine can hit 1600mhz on the core on boosts with no extra voltage and the memory is around 7400-8000mhz. (Depending on the core clock)

And it is also completely stable, If I raise the power limit it goes even higher :)

What other games did you try?

If they are games that are not that demanding, allowing the gpu to output hundreds or even thousands of frames per second, that can cause coil whine in many cards.

I'd try enabling v-sync like blackadder suggested and see what that does.

That will limit your frame rate to what ever your monitor's refresh rate is (likely 60 fps)

Sure of what? That mine never makes noise? Or that you should put in an RMA?

That you should put in an RMA

Read my post above, should I put in an RMA too?? (I don't want to hijack this thread), I've had the card for quite a while now, 2 months. One day before the VRAM thing, If they don't take an RMA back I could use the VRAM thing as an excuse.

I would, based on the coil whine. The VRAM thing not so much, worth a shot, but doubtful that it would work.

Hmmm, are you also sure that your card is completely silent? My fans can sometimes be louder than the coil whine

Considering all 8 of my fans are set to 100%. not at all.

Although I remember that I used to be able to hear my gtx660's fans over them, so that's something. it was an EVGA ftw edition.
