How to overclock your AMD more - A Cwazywazy homemade guide

Cwazywazy

If you lost the silicon lottery like I have or are just looking to get a stupid high clock, then look no further! This guide will help you get the speeds you have dreamed of!

Step one: Make a Superfan. Basically just two high speed blower fans taped together to make a Superfan.

Step two: Put it in front of your radiator. (May or may not work with an air cooler.)

Step three: Go into your BIOS and set the voltage to stupid levels. I chose about 1.65v.

Step four: Overclock. Get the multiplier as high as you can. I topped out at a mere 5.2GHz. Because of the Superfan™ the CPU stays nice and cool. In my case I was able to run Prime95 without any thermal throttling. Your results may vary.

(Note that this guide isn't a serious one. Also I did have pics of the temperatures under load but I lost those. Also it is not recommended that you run these fans while people are sleeping in the same house.)

So how does this combat the silicon lottery issue? In addition, this sub-forum should only be used for serious guides, not your stupid April Fool's jokes.

Wouldn't this voltage shorten the lifespan of your cpu significantly? Regardless of temps?

Yes, hence why I only did it for the guide.
