Best headphones under 150$?

lithafnium

Just last year I bought a turtle beach headset and was lured into the horrible world of marketing. Now I realize my mistake, and I really need some headphones that work well with gaming. I'll get a modmic to attach to it. Any suggestions?

K612 / Dt990 / ATH-m40x / HD558 are all around that price, and all are very good & recommended by lots of ppl.

@ShearMe @SSL @EmoRarity can give more recommendations when they wake up shortly I believe.

I agree with the others saying HD558 + ModMic, even though i don't personally own one, (I have the HD598) they are still a really good choice for you.

I'd recommend

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X

Audio-Technica ATH-PRO700MK2

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x

Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro

For mic's you can do on the headphone or on the monitor: AntLion ModMic, Blue Snowflake

@lithafnium

I own the ATH-M40X. It's really great, the sound balance and clarity is insane. The bass is also very balanced so if you're used to a "standard" headset, it might sound a bit flat at first.

But I truly believe it's the best or one of the best for the price.

"rough?"

Instrument seperation, bass quality. General clarity overall compared to higher end headphones

If you aren't afraid of used headphones, Philips Fidelio X1s for $120-$180 are a fantastic deal. I just bought some myself and love them. Fantastic performance for a reasonable price.
