GPU benchmerks and strees test

Hi want to test my GTX 970 strix but i am worried about damaging my GPU

Do benchmarks have any bad efects on card?

Dude, benchmarks test how the cards perform buy MAXING them out. That's how you measure how good a GPU is. When you play games that's what you are effectively doing- maxing out the card. Don't worry/ They have protection built in. Test the cards in software such as Valley Benchmarks, Furmark, 3Dmark11. Dont worry- it's perfectly okay.

It won't damage the card. It will thermal throttle if somehow it get to 79c (basically impossible for a 970) and if somehow you get it further than that it may automatically shut down. You cant really damage it unless you are playing with voltages.
