[US-Directron] Zotac gtx 970 325$

9ballfreak

I hope by posting two of these you are trying to tell us to buy two and run them in SLI?

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I keep seeing these 325$ 970 "deals", and while the particular versions listed may be slight deal, as far as I remember, you've been able to get 970s at 325 US since not way too long after launch when I got mine.

Hope no epileptics frequent this or you just gave them a seizure...and the 970's were down then shot back up not sure exactly why seemed like it was about the time 960's came out with the gtx versions but that was the first i had seen one below 340+ for a bit i stand corrected i didn't check other sites just seemed a descent deal thanks @airdeano for the update

Do you guys think this card is better than the Gigabyte G1 Gaming?

Same price essentially (after rebate)

I do see this Zotac has better clock speeds.

better, not particularly, but, the silicon lottery is amazeballs and potential to

overclock could be great. but stock out-of-the-box performance, not the same.

might look again:

zotac: 1076/1216 boost (source: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500362)

giggy: 1178/1329 boost (source: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125684)

Oops. Thanks guess I was looking at a different sku or something.

Hmm decisions. I was gonna buy the G1 this weekend but this Zotac had me second guessing.

Well this is my first pc (sorry to sidetrack) I've got a z97 and i5-4690k.

I may Overclock in the future but here is how I see my choice. If I got the Zotac Id save $40 up front (not looking at rebate) and then Id be able to afford to upgrade to i7-4970k.

For gaming mostly. But I will do some mild audio recording, web browsing, youtube ect.

Wow that's crazy.

Radom price drops this weekend. I wonder if it has anything to do with the AMD DirectX12 article lol.
