What PSU should I get for my build?

Hi guys! First post here :D What PSU should I get for the following PC?:

CPU: FX 6300

CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 Evo

MOBO: Asus M5A97 R2.0

GPU: MSi R9 280 or 270

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 4GBx2 (or some low profile ram if it doesn't fit)

HDD: 1TB WD Caviar Blue

Case: Either a Cooler Master N600 or Phanteks Enthoo Pro (Probably the N600 since its cheaper)

Extra Fans: i'll probably buy 1 or 2 extra fans for better cooling.

PSU: ???

PCPartpicker says that this pc will draw around 400 watts while coolermaster.outervision.com recommends a psu with a minimum output of 480 watts.

I will be doing some mild oc'ing to the gpu and cpu once I am comfortable doing so as this will be my first PC.

Thanks for helping out and if you have any questions feel free to ask me :D

I would say if you are on a budget get something like a rosewill capstone 450w for a solid psu on the cheap. Xfx makes some good cheap ones too.

If the website says it will use 480 watts, you should prob get something with more then that......           Go for 500W+ any brand

With an R9 280, if you're not planning to add a second GPU later on, your usage will be around ~450W under load. For optimal efficiency and headroom, a good 550W will be perfect for your build.

Take a look at the XFX ProSeries 550.

General rule yes, but there's more to PSU quality then 80+ rating

Antec, EVGA or Sea Sonic are what I am going to recommend.  You will find something affordable and well rated at a reasonable price if you look hard enough.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

oh missed didn't see that 8. But Pc part picker's wattage calculator is better than anything else by far. So I am not really concerned. Take a look at OC3d's how many watts you need video. A OC'd 4670k and 780ti  system pulled only average max load 400w and peak load was like 430. And those parts have equivalent tdp.

Oh cool! Nice and quick answers! Thanks for your help everyone! I might get a CX500M or one of the PSUs you have suggested. :)
