Logitech c920 Webcam Driver Issues

saya_kucing

Hi there,

I'm having a few problems with operating my webcam - a Logitech c920, probably due to drivers.

Initially the drivers installed as per the instructions in the package, but after restart the webcam is no longer recognised and is instead an "unknown device".

I've been in to change the drivers to the webcam, however the system is telling me that the optimal drivers (unknown device driver) is already installed.

This seems like a pretty poor implementation of how drivers are recognised by the system.

I've already tried a few re-installs of the [current] driver, and the webcam does work on occasion - however always defaults to unknown driver after a system restart.

I'm sure I've done something wrong in allocating the correct driver - as the hardware is brand new and works perfectly (when it does).

Any suggestions of what to do, as well and any similar issues and experience regarding the situation would be appreciated.

Ta,

Saya.

-EDIT-

Attached are the images showing the process I'm trying to allocate the driver. The final window leads me to believe this is a firmware issue with the webcam, however I'm unsure of how to update.

I have, to varying levels of success. I suspect it's a driver issue though, as no USB port was consistently operating, nor failing.

if you go into windows device manager (in admin tools) you have a bunch of options to configure USB ports and device drivers

try messing around there and hopefully you find something that can fix this problem
