Best air cooler upgrade over an H100i?

Hi guys,

I'm currently running an H100i atm and was wondering if there's a better air cooling alternative out there? I'm not over locked right meow but I am planning on to in the future. I've thought about the Noctuas but I just don't like the color of their coolers =\. Any help is much appreciated!

No, that would be a downgrade. You could spend over $100 to get a NH-D15 but that would only perform about 2 degrees better.

If youre going to spend that much money you might as well buy a H110i or X61 which perform better than ANY air cooler...

Are you switching because of the noise? Are you still using stock fans with the h100i?

Yes and yes

Yea, don't bother with a new cooler then. I have the D-15 and while it is solid I wouldn't switch to it from a h100i since they perform very similarly. Just replace the stock fans with something quieter and you should be good.

Maybe a pair of Noctua's like the NF-12... do you have any color preferences?

Go for any decent set with PWM control from 800rpm to 2000rpm, but expect to pay at least $30+ for the set to see an upgrade (credit to Stickg1 from TH).

Noctua NH-U12S

Then bin the fan it comes with  *(sell it on ebay )

Noctua now sell a black fan to strap on your cooler ......   NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 2000RPM

Job done , Don't get any better than that .  ;)

Any reason for three separate posts, besides trying to increase your post count?

The OP already has a better performing h100i, all he needs is a new set of fans which are quieter than the stock fans that came with his AIO.

Ok? What you're saying doesn't make sense because you're assuming the stock Noctua fan will sell. Why go through all that hassle when the OP could just get a good performing air cooler with a color scheme different from the Noctua?

I'm still not recommending to buy a new cooler because his perfectly good h100i would go to waste.

Would performance take a hit if I decided to go with the SPD 120s?
