Yup you should be able to, but don't be surprised when you get 25-35 fps because that's what everybody else gets on king of the hill.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

ya arma will tank, I was on an rp server and well you can see my rig on high I hit like...19 fps at one point arma fps can tank for seemingly no reason at any given time. That being said it is  fantastic simulation if you can tollerate inconsistaint performance from time to time normally im 40-60 fps but ever now and again it just says nope because to my understand the arma engine is rendering everything going on in the game world, just cause its out of sight doesnt mean the game is ignoring it.

Is arma 3 a more gpu intensive game or more cpu intensive?

I would say it's one of the more CPU intensive games. Whether you need more CPU or GPU depends on missions, AI, etc in game. In single player with my 290 I get about 60fps maxed super sampling to 1440p (I think? been a while.) However almost all multiplayer servers I get 25 because Bohemia thinks it's a good idea to tie server fps to client FPS.

no,4 cores > 6 cores

If buying for arma, get a Z97

I don't have ARMA 3 but I have Arma and Arma 2. It's not highly optimized and I think you need at least a 270x-280 or 760-770 nvidia card to play it. The maps are so big you could have 500+ players.

Made a difference from 16-25fps in town to 45-60fps in town for me.

But to be honest I'm struggeling again since I installed breaking point.

It worked better for me when I disabled sli, that changed.

The wierd thing about it is that I'm getting the same fps with sli as before without. xD

That's just the wierdness of arma I guess...

The ARMA series has always been coded for hardware that doesn't exist yet.  You won't find guys bragging about King of the Hill @4K in ultra, with 60+fps...  and when you do, ARMA 4 comes out and the cycle starts all over again.

That said it truly is an excellent sim, without a true competitor.  It's the one game I will suffer below 30fps to play.  Tweak guides exist and will help, to a point.  But it really is a trade off between eye candy and performance (try lowering your view distance).

Multiplayer is definitely unoptimized no matter how you cut it. Hey, Goose Creek SC. Small World, I'm in Mount Pleasant.
