Deleting Files from my SSD

Skylerrk
Go to solution Solved by ESPclipse,

The point of my SSD was to just have my OS on it and nothing else.

And yes, im an Administrative user.

Generally, folders put on the root of your system drive by Windows are meant to be there, and Windows probably won't let you remove them because these folders are integral to its operation. That is not to say that you MUST use these folders in the future (for example, I, too install many programs to storage drives) but it is probably safe not to delete them. However, stuff like your personal files should be allowed to move freely between your drives and if you cannot, then there could be a problem.

In short

Don't delete 'Program Files' and 'Users'

Just ignore them

They are important where they are

You can still install stuff to a different drive if you want to

Hey!, Im in need of some help. So recently I have built a new pc with a SSD and a HDD. When I installed windows i unplugged the sata cable from my HDD to make sure the OS installed one the SSD which it did. When I finally successfully installed windows to my SSD I plugged back in my HDD and transfered my Program files, user data and my documents to my HDD. Now I want to delete these files from my SSD but every time i try to do so windows tells me that I do not have permission. How do I fix this?

So what was the point of the SSD in the first place?

Can you reformat the SSD?

Then what are the files that you want to delete on the SSD? If they aren't system files then you should be able to delete.
