I have two four pin power connecters on my motherboard (z97i plus) and want to know how to power 5 fans with these.The fans don't need to run 100%

Hmm.. You'll be probably able to power three fans from a single connector but I could be wrong. The last time I tried it on a crappy mobo it didn't work. Check the specs on manufacturers website and find out the wattage for the fan connectors. You can easily power two fans from a single 4 pin but you need a splitter.

 

For example (do not read this):

 

A fan needs 2.3 watts of power. Your motherboard 4 pin can provide 8 watts of power. You need 3 fans. 2.3 x 3 = 6.9 watts. Result??
