My H100i is not being recognised in windows 8.1 the cable works because I tried plugging it in when the computer was on and I heard the windows "you plugged something in" sound. Any suggestions? motherboard is asus z87 sabertooth

You installed that Corsair Link software?

You installed that Corsair Link software?

Yes. I installed the latest version from the corsair website multiple times in my effort to troubleshoot the problem.

Try this. It's always worked for me.

Isn't playing with the registry kinda dangerous?

This also worked for me.  If you follow the directions, then No, playing with the registry is not dangerous.

I have a potato!

Nobody seems to have suggested this but I had this problem too. It was a while ago so you will have to google it yourself but here's the deal:

The way that Windows 8 handles USB by default has changed. Basically there is a register value for the pump that puts it into a low power or sleep mode by default which stops it being recognised.

You need to google this so you can find a guide that tells you exactly which set of values you need to change. Once you do that you wont have an issue unless you re-install windows or corsair link i assume.

EDIT: My bad, I skim read and saw the solutions :)

If you just go in and change random things then sure, but this wont do anything bad.

Thank you all. what ended up solving it was editing those three registry files on both the last two folders. Working lights woohoo
