How to split audio for headphones and speakers?

bossdre
Go to solution Solved by insayan,

Set your headphones as default speaker in windows and if your music player supports selecting different audio output do that. There is no other way unfortunately.

So I wanted to play my songs on my speaker while games and youtube videos play in my headphones, is that possible?

I can't find a definite guide or answer on how to do it in the web. :(

If it does, how?

Do I need a sound card? Is it doable with integrated audio solutions? Is it doable in windows 8.1?

Thanks!

I don't think it will be possible to split different audio from the same source. You could maybe use an external source for your music.

despite the obvious question of: Why in the world would you ever wanna do this?

Id say get another media device [mp3 player/phone] and hook it up to your speakers

It is POSSIBLE, but very difficult to pull off with the way the Audio stack works in Windows.

Even to play the SAME audio out of two sources there are workarounds, but it doesn't always work and is very difficult to do in W7.  There are petitions to change this in W10.

That being said, it is possible, but you need to have a media player that supports targeted audio source such as VLC.

Because I don't want to plug and unplug things. It would be convenient to just set it up or do it with just "one click" and be done with it.

I don't have another media device and my phone is crappy that it has limited space and battery life.

What software do I need or hardware? What do I need to do? It would be great if I don't need another hardware to do it though. :)

How do I do this? I can give this a try.

What I want is to play different audio to different outputs at the same time.

My song library playing on my main speakers while I'm gaming or watching youtube videos and the audio output would be on my headphones.

It woked! :)

And that is exactly how I wanted it to be. Games and youtube on my headphones and my music library on my main speakers so that I can play two audio on different outputs simultaneously.

Thank you very much.
