Krylon Paint + Primer for painting a graphics card

jpnmusic2

Oh hi there. So I have an XFX HD 6950 2GB HD-695X-CNFC and was thinking of painting part of it blue since I don't think I'll keep it for too long (prolly couple more months). I currently have Krylon Dual Superbond Paint + Primer spray can in blue, and was thinking if it was good for the job? I'll be masking the middle and the chrome, so only the sides will be blue. Will it resist the heat and everything? And do you think I need a lot of coating? Thanks!

Main PC: Intel i7-860 and Asus P7P55D-E LX (both for 15$) | Mismatched 7GB | WD10EZEX | ZOTAC GTX 1060 3GB | Antec EA500 (20$)

I assume it will resist the heat and everything. It would stick better with a quick scuff over with something like scotch brite or even 400 grit sandpaper.

However, if you are only keeping it for a couple more months I don't see the point in painting it. Especially if you were planning on selling it.

Well I kinda want to test and see if it's worth it and all. If I do get a new graphics card, there's chances that I'll paint it blue to fit the rest and all, so I figured I might just test it on this one. Only paid 70$, so it's not that much of a problem. I also don't really intend to sell it, and if I do, well so be it lol.

Oh ok. Well then go ahead.

Like I said especially with what you are using it would work a lot better with a bit of scuffing first. Also I would try to dissasemble the card as much as possible and try to remove the part you are painting. The less stuff you have to mask off the better.

Yeah. I'll try using scotch brite and then clean it before painting it. As for masking, normal masking tape will do right?
