Too many hardware changes lock Battlefield Hardline

Overl0rd

post-621-0-72006300-1427316948.png

When Guru3D and TechSpot tried to run some benchmarks on Battlefield Hardline, they ran into some bizarre issues...

Instead of using the number of PC's you use Hardline on, EA has now decided that it is better to monitor the actual hardware changes done to your machine.

When too many changes have been done, your game will be blocked temporarily.

Guru3D:

From what we now have learned, you get to have 5 hardware changes per license. Use them up and access to the game will be blocked for 24 hours per activation.

TechSpot:

After eight hardware changes we get hit with "we're sorry, an error has occurred...too many computers have accessed this account's version of Battlefield Hardline recently. Please try again later." Ohh how I long for a Steam version of Hardline.

That's some fine work there, EA...

But it would be in a short period of time i would imagine, almost nobody is going to change 5 / 8 pieces of hardware at once. Maybe if you build an almost new system or something then i could imagine and i mean 24 hours isn't that long to wait..

doesn't mean it's right.  EA has no right to monitor people's hardware and set a restriction based on hardware changes. It's a breach of privacy.

they have every right to monitor your account and hardware to make sure you aren't sharing with others you bought a personal license The PC BANG i take care has to buy a EA account for public use. They do this for other companies games as well.

And just when we were thinking EA was getting better.

Turns out that EA didn't fill up any of their old holes.  Instead, they just covered it with some twigs and sod, and planted a few flowers on top.
